        I obtained my Ph.D. in humanities in the field of literary studies at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Silesia in Katowice in 2017 on the basis of the dissertation The Parasite and Parasitism in Victorian Science and Literature. My main area of interest is pre-1914 British invasion literature and infection narratives, as well as the history of parasitology and medicine (especially tropical), and the golden age of detective novel.<\/span><\/p>\n
