My research interests focus on 20th<\/sup> century North American prose and poetry, Christian anarchism, Thomas Merton\u2019s late poetry, new social movements in the USA, Chicano\/a literature, ecocriticism, Animal Studies, Indigeneity Studies. I am a beneficiary of several US research grants, member of the editorial committee of The Merton Annual<\/em>, deputy editor of the biannual Zoophilologica: Polish Journal of Animal Studies<\/em>. My monograph Thomas Merton and Latin America: a Consonance of Voices<\/em> was recognized by the International Thomas Merton Society as the best publication on Thomas Merton which had come out between 2004 and 2006; in 2019 my article \u201cHome on the Border: in Ana Castillo’s The Guardians<\/em>: The Colonial Matrix of Power, Epistemic Disobedience, and Decolonial Love\u201d received the biennial Javier Coy Biennial Research Award from the Spanish Association for American Studies.
