PhD student Rafa\u0142 Juroszek and employees dr Irina Galuskina and prof. Evgeny Galuskin from our Institute, published an article in the American Mineralogist magazine concerns a new mineral – siwaqaite, which was discovered in the cavities within the spurrite marble of the Hatrurim Complex in Jordan. This mineral was approved in 2019 by the Commission of New Minerals, Nomenclature and Classification at the International Mineralogical Association. Siwaqaite, ideally Ca6<\/sub>Al2<\/sub>(CrO4<\/sub>)3<\/sub>(OH)12<\/sub>\u00b726H2<\/sub>O, is a unique mineral of the ettringite group, in which chromium (Cr6+<\/sup>) forms a chromate group (CrO4<\/sub>)2-<\/sup>.
