\r\n \r\n \r\n Cze\u015b\u0107! I\u2019m Carina, a historian and Viking-age scholar from Germany. I am an Assistant Professor and Marie Curie Fellow at the Centre for Nordic and Old English Studies at the University of Silesia. My research focuses on human-environment interactions in medieval Iceland as part of a two-year postdoctoral project. It’s hard to imagine a more welcoming atmosphere! My mentor, Professor Jakub Morawiec, has been incredibly supportive of my research over the years. \r\n \r\n \r\n I have visited both the university and our centre before. So, the first day was filled with excitement and a sense of familiarity. It started with a campus tour; before I knew it, it was time to dive into work!
