university is a good place – not only for studying, but also for scientific progress as well as development of skills and competencies needed in the modern world.

The summer exam session started a few days ago. For some of you it is the end of your first year of studies, and for others it is the last exam session and the beginning of a new life chapter.

I sincerely congratulate you on your perseverance, enthusiasm for your studies and all the successes you have achieved in recent months. It was a time of intense learning, many challenges, but also numerous accomplishments that fill our entire academic community with pride. Every exam you pass, every project you complete, every newly acquired skill is your personal triumph, proof of how great your potential is.

Thank you for enriching our university with your work and passion.

After months of hard work, it is time for a well-deserved rest. I wish you summer holidays that will replenish your energy as well as allow you to pursue your passions and embark on many inspiring journeys. Use this time to recharge your batteries, spend it with your loved ones and gain new energy to take on new challenges.

I wish you a time full of sun, joy and wonderful moments. Come back in October with renewed zeal and enthusiasm!

The distinctions are awarded for the activity and achievements in the following fields: social, cultural, artistic, sport, scientific, popular science, as well as for initiating and developing student life. You can share your individual successes and activities for the benefit of the academic community or local community. It is one of the most prestigious distinctions students and PhD students may receive at the University of Silesia.  

You can apply by 6 April 11.59 p.m. The competition will be carried out thoroughly remotely, starting from the stage of applying to the stage of faculty evaluation of the applications.

we invite you to the third Students Meet Up powered by Metropolia GZM which will be held:

This time we invite you to discover the Easter customs in our region – to taste żurek, our traditional Easter soup, and to share the painting of eggs, as they are an integral element of Polish Easter decorations.
