We kindly inform you that Katarzyna Trynda, PhD, Assoc. Prof., Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, in consultation with the Management Board of the University Council of the Student Government, has made decisions resulting from art. 3 sub-s. 1 of the regulations on benefits for students.

STUDENT BENEFITS

The amount of income entitling a student to a social allowance is PLN 1,570.50.

The amount of the social allowance depends on the per capita income in the student’s family and is as follows:

– for income

from PLN 0.00 to PLN 300.00 –            PLN 2,600.00
from PLN 300.01 to PLN 600.00 –        PLN 2,400.00
from PLN 600.01 to PLN 900.00 –            PLN 2,200.00
from PLN 900.01 to PLN 1100.00 –            PLN 1,800.00
from PLN 1100.01 to PLN 1300.00 –            PLN 1,600.00
from PLN 1300.01 to PLN 1570.50 –            PLN 1,500.00

Amount of increase in social allowance: PLN 300

Pursuant to section 7 sub-s. 2 of the regulations on student benefits, in particularly justified cases, a student may receive a social allowance in an increased amount Such allowance is granted, in particular, to a student who is an orphan or has reached the legal age in foster custody.

Amount of the financial aid:
a) awarded by the Dean – up to PLN 1,200.00
b) increased by the Rector at the request of the Dean – up to PLN 2,000.00

Allowance for people with disabilities:
– significant degree of disability / first disability class – PLN 1,200.00
– moderate degree of disability / second disability class – PLN 1,100.00
– mild degree of disability / third disability class – PLN 1,000.00

The Rector’s Scholarship is PLN 1,200.

Number of eligible persons: 6% of the best students in a given degree programme.

For students who obtained 20 points or more, the Rector increases the scholarship amount to PLN 1,500.

The amount of the Rector’s monthly scholarship for first-year students who are winners of olympiads and/or medallists of sports competitions and who were admitted to studies in the year of taking the matura exam is PLN 1,500

GENERAL PROVISIONS

• October overpayment benefits are scheduled to be paid on 27 November 2024.
• The following payments in the winter semester are scheduled for: 20 December 2024, 28 January 2025, 24 February 2025, 24 March 2025 (Rector’s Scholarships)
• In the academic year 2024/2025, student scholarships are awarded for a period of 9 months, i.e. from October 2024 to June 2025.

Recruitment for study trips under the Erasmus+ programme will start soon. We encourage you to apply for trips in the 2024/2025 academic year. The application can be submitted via the USOS system in the STUDENT’S SECTION -> STUDENT MOBILITY tab.

In the academic year 2024/2025, the grant ranges from EUR 600 to EUR 670 per month, depending on the country in which the mobility will be carried out. People receiving a social allowance may receive additional funding of EUR 250 per month.

The main criterion for awarding trips will be the average grade. The applicant must also know the language of instruction of the host university.

Recruitment for internships under the Erasmus+ programme lasts all year round.

Information meetings regarding recruitment are already scheduled. Meeting dates will be announced on an ongoing basis on the Erasmus+ programme website and on the University of Silesia’s social media.
