HYDRO(GEO)LOGIA is the first scientific conference, aimed at students and doctoral students as well as the general public, organised by the University of Silesia in Katowice, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Institute of Earth Sciences.

The aim of our conference is to promote the protection of water resources in the country and the world and the principles of rational water management, to develop knowledge on methods of risk assessment for the water environment, as well as hydrological, hydrogeological and hydrochemical modelling methods.

The conference is intended to enable young scientists to present their research in hydrology, hydrogeology and water management, as well as to introduce a wide audience to a range of current global water issues.

18 October 2024, the building of the Institute of Earth Sciences of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice, at 60 Będzińska Street in Sosnowiec.

We invite you to the „Natural cosmetics” workshop classes. In interactive, joyful fun, participants will compose their own cosmetic recipes to consciously take care of the condition and quality of the skin. With us you will feel like in an alchemist’s workshop. With us, you will prepare a natural moisturizing cream with anti-aging properties, a lip gloss that gives incredible shine, and if you want, you will become a senselier or perfumer, like from the pages of the novel „Perfume” by Patrick Suskind.

There will be no magic here, but magic will happen.

Before the screening, a short lecture by Chinese students Chenxi Du and Niting Jia is planned, who will present basic phrases in Chinese. The presentation involves interaction with event participants and a lot of fun!

After the screening, event participants will take part in a discussion. They will also learn many interesting facts about Chinese culture.

We are looking forward to welcome you, along with an English-speaking translator, on April 25th at 5 p.m. 

During the event, we will share the history of the Palace and its former occupants – the Schoen family, who arrived here in the second half of the 19th century from Germany. 

Our guide will lead participants through the former Schoen residence, now transformed into a museum, and showcase the current exhibitions. 

The admission is free of charge.
