Another call for applications in the “jUSt transition” project have just been open. We’d like to encourage you to apply for funds in one of the tasks of your choice. Announced tasks:

1. Financing of international mobility:
   • Foreign research journeys – Europe – link to the announcement

2. Financing of cost of research – purchase and services – link to the announcement
3. Support for publication activity of doctoral students:
   • Financing of proofreading – link to the announcement

Key conditions:

• The PhD student conducts research which supports the transformation process, in particular in the directions of the green and digital economy (supervisor’s opinion required)
• The PhD student has not yet received funding in any module of the “jUSt transition” project

The recruitment lasts until June 4. The recruitment requires filling in the appropriate forms and submitting them in paper form to the project office.

A number of calls for doctoral students of the Doctoral School as part of the project “jUSt transition – The potential of the University of Silesia as the basis for the Just Transformation of the region” have been open.

On 27.01.2025-28.02.2025, recruitment is being conducted for:

Foreign trips within Europe – announcement.

Foreign trips outside Europe – announcement.

Trips to foreign scientific conferences – announcement.

Funding for research conducted by doctoral students up to PLN 5,000 – announcement.

A doctoral student can obtain funding in the program only once in each type of call (trips 1-3 are treated as one category).

The condition for obtaining funding is the presentation by the supervisor of confirmation that the doctoral student has entered the project criteria.

Dear PhD student

We would like to inform you that on the website https://just.fesl.us.edu.pl/ there are announcements of competitions for foreign mobilities and scientific conferences for doctoral students as part of the “jUSt transition” program. We encourage you to read the announcements and fill out the applications.

Recruitment:

• 1 short-term mobilities abroad within Europe
• 2 short-term mobilities abroad outside Europe
• 7 active participation in foreign scientific conferences (does not apply to online conferences)

Deadline for submitting applications: July 9, 2024 (in paper form, at the project office – Rector’s Office, room 2.7)

Mobilities implementation date: between July 29, 2024 and June 30, 2025.

What is to do:

– the PhD student fills in the application documents attached in the announcement in paper form (documents are in Polish, due to project regulations – if you have trouble with filling it our, please come to the Doctoral School)

– the PhD student fills in the electronic form – substantive attachment – then prints the generated PDF received by email from SRW and attaches the printout to the other documents

– the supervisor fills in the electronic form – supervisor’s opinion – then sends the generated PDF received by email from SRW to the PhD student – the PhD student attaches the printout to the other documents

– the PhD student collects all documents in paper form

– at the Doctoral School office (room 409, Ms. Magdalena Winiarska) the PhD student receives confirmation of the PhD student status on Appendix No. 3 and the number of trips already completed on Appendix No. 11

– the PhD student submits all documents to the project office, Rector’s Office, room 2.7

Planned next recruitments

1. 6.5 Co-financing of research costs conducted by doctoral students at the Doctoral School of the University of Silesia – the first recruitment of applications in the competition will last until 30.08.2024 and will cover activities in the period 20.09.2024 – 30.06.2025.

2. 6.9 Support for the publication activities of PhD students of the Doctoral School of the University of Silesia and the International Environmental Doctoral School at the Centre for Polar Studies – Article Processing Charges/Open Access costs – The first call for applications in the competition will last until 14.10.2024 and will cover activities in the period 08.11.2024 – 30.06.2025

3. 6.10 Support for the publication activities of PhD students of the Doctoral School of the University of Silesia and the International Environmental Doctoral School at the Centre for Polar Studies – proofreading costs – The first call for applications in the competition will last until 14.10.2024 and will cover activities in the period 08.11.2024 – 30.06.2025

4. The second call for applications in the activities announced now – call for applications until 02.12.2024 for activities carried out in the period 7 January 2025-31 December 2025 (provided that funds are not exhausted in the first call).
