Two paths of admission at the University of Silesia in Katowice<\/h3> \r\n \r\n \r\n At the University of Silesia, since 2026, admission is conducted according to two different paths, depending on the discipline you apply for.<\/p>\nIn the area of science and engineering, the university publishes a list of topics and their assigned supervisors<\/strong>. Candidates choose from the list of topics. This applies to the following disciplines:<\/p>\n\n- computer and information sciences, biomedical engineering, materials engineering, mathematics, chemical sciences, and physical sciences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
In other areas, the candidate prepares the topic and finds a supervisor from among university staff<\/strong>. This applies to the following areas and disciplines for which recruitment is taking place:<\/p>\n\n- Natural Sciences: biological sciences, Earth and environmental sciences<\/li>\n
- Humanities and Theology: philosophy, history, literary studies, linguistics, cultural and religious studies, art Studies, Polish studies, theology,<\/li>\n
- Social Sciences: social and economic geography and spatial management, communication and media studies, political science and public administration, law, sociology, education, psychology
