The procedure for appointing a supervisor obligatory in the academic year 2022\/2023<\/h3>\r\n

PhD candidate<\/strong> applying for the appointment of a supervisor<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Prepares an application for the appointment of a supervisor and submits it to the office of the Doctoral School in paper form. Application form: application-for-supervisor-appointment<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Prepare the application for the opinion of the institute’s scientific council and submit it to the office servicing the relevant institute in paper form. Application form: application-for-opinion-about-the-supervisor<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Fills out the electronic form:- for 1st year PhD candidates: https:\/\/formularze.us.edu.pl\/form\/index\/3529<\/a>– for PhD candidates who already have a supervisor and are applying for the appointment of a second supervisor or auxiliary supervisor:Applying for a supervisor and an auxiliary supervisor or two supervisors may take place simultaneously (on one application). The PhD candidate may also apply for the appointment of a second supervisor or auxiliary supervisor later.Institute’s scientific council:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Receives applications from PhD candidates for the opinion of the candidate for the supervisor\/supervisors \/ supervisor and the auxiliary supervisor.<\/li>\n
    2. Issues opinions in the form of a resolution, separately for each PhD candidate<\/li>\n
    3. Submit resolutions to the office of the Doctoral School in paper or electronic form (katarzyna.golaszewska@us.edu.pl<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Note – the current list of first-year PhD candidates (as well as other PhD candidates) is constantly available on the Employee Portal (https:\/\/pp.us.edu.pl\/): Supplements -> List of PhD candidates of doctoral schools. If the employee of the institute does not see this report, the rights to the report may be granted by the organizational manager of the department in his Employee Portal (AUTHORIZATIONS – REPORTS).<\/p>\n

      Doctoral School<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. DS office collects documentation from PhD candidates and institutes.<\/li>\n
      2. The Dean of DS appoints the supervisor \/ supervisors \/ supervisor and an auxiliary supervisor.<\/li>\n
      3. The DS office creates a database, completes the data in USOS to generate a report in PP, transmits the appointment decision to PhD candidates and supervisors, and supplements the number of employees designated as supervisors.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The person to contact in the DS office is Ms. Katarzyna Go\u0142aszewska (katarzyna.golaszewska@us.edu.pl<\/a>).<\/p>\n

        Agnieszka Filipowska (agnieszka.filipowska@us.edu.pl<\/a>) is responsible for supplementing the staff number in the DS office.<\/p>\n

        Deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n

        First-year PhD candidates submit their applications by November 15.<\/p>\n

        The Dean of DS appoints the supervisor by December 31.<\/p>\n

        PhD candidates who already have a designated supervisor and want to apply for the appointment of a second supervisor or an auxiliary supervisor may do so at any time.<\/p>\n
