Building on the seminal work <em>Deterritorializing the Future: Heritage in, of and after the Anthropocene <\/em>by Rodney Harrison and Colin Sterling (2020), and on the ICCROM\u2019s Foresight Initiative (2021) <em>Anticipating futures for heritage,<\/em> we propose to look at two main interlinked aspects of the Anthropocene and heritage, namely the spatial and the temporal dimension of heritage and Anthropocene as well as the ways in which they challenge and trouble the categories of \u2018human\u2019, \u2018non-human\u2019 and \u2018other-than-human\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Bootcamp will be composed of three key-note lectures by experts in different fields and disciplines dealing actively with the leading questions of the bootcamp. Each lecture will be followed by a workshop, including a half-day field-trip that will offer hands-on insights on the issues through the local perspective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEARNING OUTCOMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the Bootcamp, participants will be able to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Critically explain<\/strong> the concept of the Anthropocene and assess its implications for the understanding, preservation, and interpretation of cultural and natural heritage, including the different views of various disciplines;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analyse case studies<\/strong> of heritage sites or practices affected by climate change\/crisis, environmental degradation, or human-induced transformations, identifying ethical and practical challenges;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analyse heritage practices as political and future-oriented processes<\/strong>, evaluating how narratives of loss, resilience, and sustainability in the Anthropocene shape social identities, responsibilities, and claims to place.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Apply interdisciplinary thinking<\/strong> by integrating insights from heritage studies, environmental humanities, and social sciences to propose informed responses to heritage loss or adaptation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Communicate informed arguments<\/strong>\u2014orally and in discussion\u2014about how heritage can contribute to public understanding of environmental change and future-oriented sustainability debates.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>More information:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/transform4europe.eu\/2026\/04\/heritage-and-the-anthropocene-foreseeing-futures\/\">Heritage and the Anthropocene \u2013 Foreseeing Futures &#8211; Transform4Europe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In order to register, please, fill in <a href=\"https:\/\/formularze.us.edu.pl\/form\/index\/7280\"><strong>Application form<\/strong><\/a> until <strong>14<sup>th<\/sup> May. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Participants will be selected based on the evaluation of registrations.<\/p>\n<p>Travel and accommodation costs of the selected participants will be covered by\u00a0Transform4Europe project. Accommodation of students will be organised in single\/double\/triple rooms. Plane and\/or railway tickets will be purchased by the university.
