During the award ceremony, which took place on 13 September in Katowice (Poland), the European Union prizes were presented.<\/p>\n<p>Among the awards were the following Transform4Europe prizes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nora Lara Artico from Switzerland for the project &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/eucyskatowice2024.eu\/bacteriophages-a-glimmer-of-hope-in-medicine-when-antibiotics-fail-to-treat-bacterial-infections\">Bacteriophages: a glimmer of hope in medicine \u2013 when antibiotics fail to treat bacterial infections&#8217;<\/a>,<\/li>\n<li>Annika Moppel from Estonia for the project &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/eucyskatowice2024.eu\/russias-propaganda-in-the-information-war-the-examples-of-the-first-crimean-bridge-explosion-and-propaganda-used-by-rossiyskaya-gazeta\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Russia\u2019s Propaganda in the Information War: The Examples of the First Crimean Bridge Explosion and Propaganda Used by Rossiyskaya Gazeta&#8217;<\/span><\/a>,<\/li>\n<li>Nicolas Dominic Huber from Switzerland for the project &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/eucyskatowice2024.eu\/pushing-the-limits-active-safety-in-paragliding\/\">Pushing the Limits &#8211; Active Safety in Paragliding&#8217;<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our sincere congratulations to the winners and we wish you continued success in your scientific careers!<\/p>\n<p>EUCYS, the European Union Contest for Young Scientists, is the most important European contest for young scientists organised by the European Commission since 1989. Each year a different city hosts the contest. In 2024, it was Katowice &#8211; the European City of Science 2024.
