These workshops aim to foster reflection and sharing on pedagogical innovation in Higher Education, challenging T4EU faculty members and researchers to implement new practices in their classes. In this online workshop you will learn and understand the theoretical and methodological aspects that involve Service Learning. You will also be able to identify the main characteristics of the Service-Learning methodology and the main guidelines for the implementation of A+S in a course, knowing good teaching practices of diverse disciplinary areas. It will be a space where you will be able to value the methodology and its characteristics as a pedagogical tool that enhances learning, develops values and contributes to the community.<\/p>\n Facilitators:<\/p>\n Fernanda Penela Quinteros | Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile January 21 | 10:00-12:00 (GMT)<\/p>\n Whereas active learning is recognized as a promising instruction method, faculty often relies on traditional teaching methods. Also, students\u2019 perception might be that they learn less in active learning classes. So, should we invest in active learning? The answer is yes, and in this workshop, we will have the opportunity to discuss how and why we might include some active learning practices into our teaching.<\/p>\n Facilitator: January 22 | 13:00-15:00 (GMT)<\/p>\n This workshop aims to promote discussion around the lecture method, dissociating it from a purely passive approach. Various pedagogical strategies are presented and experimented with, which, when combined with the lecture method, enhance the engagement and participation of higher education students.<\/p>\n Facilitator:<\/p>\n Diana Soares | Universidade Cat\u00f3lica Portuguesa<\/p>\n January 23 | 16:00-18:00 (GMT)<\/p>\n This workshop will address and exemplify reflection activities to provide teachers with tools they can implement in their courses. Practical examples will be discussed, and exercises will be conducted for participants to experience reflection and its impact on learning. The importance of this workshop lies in its practical and applied approach, which aims to empower faculty to effectively integrate reflection into their SL course syllabi. This workshop addresses the relevance of reflection in Service-Learning. The main objective is for participants to acquire the necessary tools to understand and apply reflection in a Service-Learning course. The session will emphasize the importance of integrating a reflection strategy as an essential component in the design and execution of a Service-Learning course.
