The University of Silesia in Katowice announces the recruitment of participate in the International Summer School \u2013 InterConnect Alicante Summer School<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The InterConnect Alicante Summer School is an international summer school organised at the University of Alicante and addressed to students from Poland and Spain. The aim of the programme is to develop participants\u2019 intercultural, social, and language competences through collaborative learning and cooperation in international teams.<\/p>\n

The programme includes integration workshops and classes focused on effective cooperation in international groups, during which participants will establish principles of teamwork and develop communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. An important element of the programme will be workshops on European values promoting democracy, equality, diversity, solidarity, and respect for human rights.<\/p>\n

The classes will be delivered using active learning methods, including project-based work, moderated discussions, educational games, role-playing activities, and tasks carried out in international groups. These activities will enable participants to explore the cultural heritage of Poland and Spain and develop their communication competences.<\/p>\n

An important element of the Summer School will be intercultural evenings, during which participants will present the culture, history, and traditions of their countries, strengthening intercultural dialogue and counteracting stereotypes. The learning process will be complemented by reflection and feedback sessions.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>At least 10 students from the University of Silesia in Katowice
\nAt least 4 students from the University of Alicante<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Spanish\/French<\/p>\n

Participation fee:
\n<\/strong>Free of charge<\/p>\n

Format:
\n<\/strong>Classes will be held in lecture rooms at the University of Alicante.
\nThe on-site programme may be preceded by online lectures.<\/p>\n

ECTS credits and certificate:
\n<\/strong>Participants who complete the Summer School will receive 3 ECTS credits and a certificate specifying the learning outcomes (30 hours of classes).<\/p>\n

How to apply \u2014 Step 1 (University of Alicante students)<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Complete the application form (Annex No. 1A \u2013 Student\u2019s Application for Participation<\/u><\/strong><\/a>),
    \nincluding Section 1: Information about the Candidate and Section 4: Substantive Criteria.<\/li>\n
  2. Print the completed application form.<\/li>\n
  3. Sign the application form on the last page, indicating the date and place.<\/li>\n
  4. Attach the required certificates\/confirmations.<\/li>\n
  5. Obtain the signature of the dean\u2019s office of the relevant faculty in Section 1.<\/li>\n
  6. Obtain the signature of the co-organiser of the support activity (Prof. \u00c1ngeles Sirvent \/ Prof. Teresa Pozo-Rico) at the end of the application, under the statement confirming the relevance of the requested form of support.<\/li>\n
  7. Send a signed scan of the application form together with the required certificates\/confirmations to: transform4europe@us.edu.pl<\/a>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Selection criteria:
    \n<\/strong>Applications will be assessed on a points basis according to the following criteria:<\/p>\n

    Self-assessment of knowledge and competences related to the topic of the Summer School<\/p>\n

    Language proficiency:
    \nEnglish language:
    \nA1\u2013A2 \u2013 1 point
    \nB1\u2013B2 \u2013 2 points
    \nC1\u2013C2 \u2013 3 points<\/p>\n

    Second foreign language (including native language)
    \nA1\u2013A2 \u2013 1 point
    \nB1\u2013B2 \u2013 2 points
    \nC1\u2013C2 \u2013 3 points<\/p>\n

    Language certificates:
    \n<\/strong>Issued by a language school \u2013 1 point
    \n<\/strong>Issued by a university unit \u2013 2 points
    \n<\/strong>External certificates issued by an accredited examination centre \u2013 3 points<\/p>\n

    A copy of each supporting document must be attached to the application.<\/p>\n

    Acceptable documents include a certificate issued by a language course provider, a transcript of grades confirming language proficiency, or the applicant\u2019s own statement\/declaration confirming knowledge of the given language.<\/p>\n

    Dean\u2019s opinion confirming the relevance of the requested form of support for the student\u2019s study programme:

    \n<\/strong>Confirmed relevance \u2013 3 points<\/p>\n

    A ranking list and a reserve list will be created based on the total score.<\/p>\n

    Participation in the project and its implementation \u2014 Step 2 (University of Alicante students)
    \n<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Qualified participants, before the start of the summer school
    \n(deadline: 19 September 2026)<\/p>\n

    1. Register in the NAWA application system as a project participant, following the instructions provided in the file \u201cRegistration NAWA \u2013 EN<\/u><\/strong>\u201d<\/a> and submit the registration\/application.<\/li>\n
    2. Download the application file in PDF format and send it to:
