The volume includes articles on Damon Galgut\u2019s work by scholars from various academic institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Damon Galgut (b. 1963) is one of the most important contemporary South African writers. In his novels, he explores the historical and social transformations of South Africa, particularly the transition from apartheid to democracy. In 2021, he was awarded the Booker Prize for his novel <em>The Promise<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will include contributors to the volume:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professor Zbigniew Bia\u0142as (University of Silesia in Katowice)<\/li>\n<li>Professor Elleke Boehmer (University of Oxford)<\/li>\n<li>Dr Ewa Dynarowicz (University of Wroc\u0142aw)<\/li>\n<li>Professor M\u00e9lanie Joseph-Vilain (Universit\u00e9 Bourgogne Europe)<\/li>\n<li>Professor Robert Kusek (Jagiellonian University in Krak\u00f3w)<\/li>\n<li>Professor S\u0142awomir Mas\u0142o\u0144 (University of Silesia in Katowice)<\/li>\n<li>Professor Nedine Moonsamy (University of Johannesburg)<\/li>\n<li>Dr Julia Szo\u0142tysek (University of Silesia in Katowice)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The seminar is organised by Dr Marek Pawlicki (University of Silesia in Katowice), who will also moderate the discussion.
