The research activity of the Institute of Literary Studies closely corresponds to the research areas indicated in the strategy of the Institute of Literary Studies of the University of Silesia for 2020-2025. The research is conducted in three research teams working on the following topics: foreign literature, Polish and classical literature, and human-animal relations from antiquity to the Middle Ages. Many researchers conduct their research under domestic and foreign research grants (including the Fulbright Scholarship, Horizon 2020 grants, NCN, NPRH), and their results are often award-winning publications.
