W kwietniu 2025 roku Wydzia\u0142 Humanistyczny Uniwersytetu \u015al\u0105skiego w Katowicach, wraz z Zespo\u0142em badawczym Trans-Indigena, b\u0119d\u0105 go\u015bci\u0107 Cheryl Suzack<\/strong>, pochodz\u0105c\u0105 z Pierwszego Narodu Batchewana, profesork\u0119 anglistyki, studi\u00f3w nad ludno\u015bci\u0105 rdzenn\u0105, oraz nauk prawnych na University of Toronto w Kanadzie. In April 2025, the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Silesia in Katowice, along with the\u00a0Trans-Indigena\u00a0Research Team, will host Cheryl Suzack<\/strong> (Batchewana First Nations), Professor of English & Indigenous Studies, Faculty of Arts & Science and Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto in Canada. Her research focuses on American and Indigenous law in the context of Indigenous literature,\u00a0with a particular emphasis on the writing by Indigenous women.<\/p>\n

On April 3rd (Thursday), 11:45, lecture hall 0.51, Sosnowiec, Faculty of Humanities<\/strong> Prof. Suzack will deliver on open lecture entitled: „Thresholds of Difference within Indigenous Women’s Activism, Or How Indigenous Women Use Culture to Combat State Violence and Restore Community.”\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

She will also conduct two seminars on the topic: „Indigenous Peoples and Climate Justice: Storying the Activism of Indigenous Human Rights Defenders.”<\/p>\n
