Special Education, long cycle studies<\/h3> Language of instruction: Polish<\/h3>\r\n \r\n \r\n Special education is an extraordinary degree programme that teaches how to help, educate, care for and work with people with disabilities. During your studies you will learn how to provide the best possible help \u2013 help that will put a smile on many faces.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nSpecial education at the University of Silesia will allow you to gain comprehensive knowledge about the proper human development and the causes of organic, mental and social deviations from the norm. During your studies, you will develop <\/span>practical skills in the care, upbringing, education and therapy of people with disabilities<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nOur degree programme is characterised by an innovative organisation of our own concept of tutoring \u2013 during the studies, students will be individually supervised by two tutors who will become their formal, scientific and methodological advisors. Such an organisation will allow them to better develop their individual skills.<\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nAs part of the degree programme (parallel to acquiring and expanding knowledge and competencies in general humanities, including general pedagogical, and those in the field of general issues of special education), the students will acquire:<\/span><\/p>\n\n- in-depth knowledge on disability, development, diagnosis, education, and therapy of people with disabilities;<\/span><\/li>\n
- extended knowledge on the medical, mental, social and cultural mechanisms of functioning of people with disabilities;<\/span><\/li>\n
- specialised methodological competencies (including communication competencies) in the field of special pedagogy methodology;<\/span><\/li>\n
- the ability to create an environment conducive to the development of people with disabilities;<\/span><\/li>\n
- specialist competencies required in the field of rehabilitation, education and therapy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
