Establishment of cooperation with NA61\/SHINE. A group of physicists from the Institute of Physics began working at the experiment by taking responsibility for the beam delivery system and the beam detectors. With each year of participation in the cooperation, the tasks and responsibilities of the group members increased.<\/div>\r\n

The work of a group of physicists in the ICARUS T600 experiment, using the CNGS (CERN – Gran Sasso) beam of muon neutrinos produced at CERN in 2010-2012. One of the most important results of ICARUS was to measure the velocity of neutrinos and to falsify their superluminosity. Physicists from the University of Silesia participated in test measurements, installation of the detector in an underground laboratory in Gran Sasso, Italy, and data collection and analysis.<\/div>\r\n
