We invite all interested university students to the International Student Team Competition in Mathematics (ISTCiM) organized by the University od Silesia, Katowice (Poland). The Competition takes place every year in the first half of November.<\/p>\n

This year 2024 the Competition will take place from November 8th<\/sup> to 10th<\/sup>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The goal of the competition is to maintain a keen interest in mathematics, to encourage the development of all mathematically talented students, to support friendly relations between students and teachers of participating institutions and to promote cooperation between students and the development of interpersonal skills. The Competition is addressed to every student at any stage of the studies (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies up to the third year), interested in mathematics.
\nThe Competition consists of two parts: individual and team. Teams may consist of up to five students.
\nIn the individual part there will be five problems in the following areas: mathematical analysis (with topology and set theory), functional equations (including differential equations), algebra and combinatorics, geometry and linear algebra, probability theory. The team part will consist of ten problems.
\nParticipation in person in Katowice is free of charge. Participants should register through the Competition’s webpage. Registration will be open untill October 31th.<\/p>\n

The Competition official language is English.
