9th International Students Symposium on Law and Global Issues – Koç

We are pleased to share with you this information about the 9th International Students Symposium on Law and Global Issues, scheduled for
7-8-9 may 2021, and organised by the Koç University Law School. You will find all the details and the Call for Papers through the following link:

9th International Students Symposium

The main theme of this year’s symposium will be “Law and Global Contemporary Challenges”. Accordingly, we encourage paper proposals to address an issue suited to our main theme, with a focus on the following fields, in particular:

• Human Rights, Democracy and Rule of Law
• Migration, Nationality and Citizenship
• Freedom of Speech and Assembly
• Gender Equality
• Biodiversity and Environment
• Ownership and Intellectual Property
• Big Data and Privacy
• Future of Law
• Covid-19 and Its Legal Implications
• Application Process

Those who would like to present a paper must send their paper abstract (maximum 350 words) by April 9th to The abstracts will be evaluated by a Committee established by Koç University Law School and you will be notified whether your application has been accepted or not by April 12th. For selected presenters, final papers and presentations should be submitted to by May 4th. If your abstract is not selected, you are welcome to attend the Symposium as a participant.

Some Notes

a) The whole Symposium will be held in English. There will be no Turkish panel this year.
b) Due to Covid-19 restrictions in Turkey, almost all sessions of the Symposium will be held on Zoom Webinar, resting sessions on Zoom Meeting format. The ultimate schedule will be sent to your mail address submitted in the registration form.
c) Registration at the Symposium is free of charge.
d) Those who will not present a paper may apply as a participant until April 30th.
e) Each presenter will have 15 minutes for their presentation and 5 minutes allocated for questions and answers.
f) The Symposium will be certificated via e-mail. We are teaming up with Sertifier that enables you to share the certificate in the easiest way. Paper presenters will receive an additional certificate. An established steering committee will evaluate the papers and presentations to award the best presentation and the best paper.
