The Law Faculty of Würzburg, Germany invites advanced students and young professionals of both law and law-related disciplines from the European Union to participate in the Winter School 2022 to extend their knowledge of European Constitutional Law and to benefit from the exchange within a European academic forum.
The first 40 participants will be granted scholarships of 500 Euro per student after enrolment and participation.
All enrolled participants will be awarded 2 ECTS points.
The international group of participants will attend lectures and workshops on the topic of European Constitutional Law which will be held in English.
In the mornings, EU law experts will hold lectures that address the themes Democracy, Rule of Law, Freedom and Solidarity from a constitutional perspective. The afternoons are reserved for guided workshops, in which participants can collaborate on joint projects that will be presented and discussed on the last day of the Winter School.
Lectures will cover the following topics:
* Understandings of Democracy
* Instruments and Procedures of Democracy
* Guarantee of Effective Legal Protection
* Fight against Rule of Law Deficits
* Fundamental Freedoms
* Fundamental Rights
* Climate Protection and Ecological Challenges
* Europe and Financial Solidarity
We hope to be able to hold the Winter School in person. In this case, the program will include social events and opportunities to get to know the beautiful city of Würzburg. If the pandemic situation does not allow for in-person-meetings, the Winter School will take place online. In this case, the first 40 participants will be granted scholarships of 200 €.
Participants only have to pay the registration fee of 142,70 € for the enrolment at the University of Würzburg.
