The Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia in Katowice<\/span><\/strong> is a rapidly developing institution open to international cooperation and striving to attain the highest international scientific and educational standards.<\/span><\/p>\n Faculty members are<\/strong> highly regarded experts<\/strong><\/span> who combine scientific knowledge with legal practice. Among the employees of the Faculty are judges, government employees, tax advisors and attorneys. Professor Maciej Szpunar holds the position of First Advocate General at the CJEU.<\/span><\/p>\n The research carried out by our employees addresses current scientific problems<\/strong><\/span>, including human rights, protection of real-estate owners, artificial intelligence, international litigation and arbitration, animal protection and sustainable aspects in public contracts.<\/span><\/p>\n Researchers of our Faculty conduct international cooperation in public international law, EU law, criminal law, civil and commercial law, constitutional law, theory and philosophy of law, and public procurement law.<\/span><\/p>\n The Faculty also offers education in English in the area of International Business Law and Arbitration<\/strong><\/span>, as well as selected courses in English and German. We develop students’ practical skills by creating an environment for the creative exchange of ideas.<\/span><\/p>\n The Faculty of Law and Administration has 1<\/strong>42 academic employees<\/strong>, PhD fellows 48<\/strong><\/span> and 24 administrative employees<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n The Law Library<\/strong> is an enormous resource for the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia.<\/strong> The library’s book collection consists of about 122,000 titles<\/strong>, more than 200 titles of journals in current subscription (of which 50 are foreign journals), and hundreds of titles of journals collected in the past.<\/span><\/p>\n The library also offers access to electronic sources of information in the form of numerous scientific databases<\/strong>, creating a workshop for research and scientific and teaching work for the entire academic community and all interested parties. These include not only specialized legal databases<\/a> (including SIP Lex, SIP Legalis, Beck-Online, Legal Source, Westlaw International<\/a>, HeinOnline<\/a>, Oxford Journal Law<\/a><\/strong>) but also several interdisciplinary databases (including Academic Research Source eJournals<\/a>, Academic Research Source eBooks<\/a><\/strong>, Academica<\/a><\/strong>, De Gruyter<\/a><\/strong>,SpringerLink<\/a><\/strong>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Faculty is located in the center of Katowice and the Silesian metropolitan area. The Faculty building is located close to two airports: Krak\u00f3w – Balice and Katowice – Pyrzowice.
