\r\n On May 28, 2026<\/strong>, we had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Brandon Waldon<\/strong><\/span> from the University of South Carolina.<\/p>\n

During the seminar \u201cLinguistics & Textualism\u201d and the lecture \u201cLarge Language Models for Legal Interpretation? Don\u2019t Take Their Word for It,\u201d Prof. Waldon introduced participants to the commonalities between linguistics, the philosophy of language, and legal interpretation.<\/p>\n

A key part of the events was a discussion of the potential and technological barriers associated with the use of large language models (LLMs) in the analysis and interpretation of legal texts. \r\n
