The 7th<\/sup> conference on Expropriation Law, hosted in Krakow<\/u><\/strong> by the University of Silesia <\/strong><\/span>(Katowice) and the Krakow University of Economics<\/strong><\/span>, in collaboration with the University of Groningen<\/strong>, the University of Cape Town<\/strong>, the University of the Witwatersrand <\/strong>(Johannesburg), and the Radboud University<\/strong> (Nijmegen) invites you to rethink and explore legal, economic and social considerations of expropriation. The event will take place on 11-12th September 2025, <\/strong>and it’s fully conducted in English.<\/strong><\/p>\n Viewing expropriation through the lens of disruptive phenomena is essential to understand the challenges and opportunities in employing this institution to resolve important social and economic problems. Rethinking expropriation law demands a responsible approach to reconciling private and public interests. It also requires contemplating how the expropriation process is managed and governed by public authorities.<\/p>\n Thus, the organizers of the conference hope to explore the following aspects of expropriation, with the aim of considering them in a complex setting of: property rights, disruptive events<\/strong>, new or developing social and economic challenges<\/strong>, valuation difficulties<\/strong>, and adequately shaping both private and public law provisions<\/strong> (substantive and procedural) regulating expropriation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n During the conference we will discuss a whole range of important topics such as :<\/p>\n To register and submit an abstract, please fill in the registration form<\/a>.\u00a0All participants are asked to register.<\/strong> The registration form allows to specify whether you are submitting an abstract or wish to attend without presenting.<\/p>\n We also kindly inform that the deadline for sending abstract and completing the registration form is 31 March 2025<\/strong>.
