On October 1, 2025, the community of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia gathered for the inauguration ceremony<\/strong> to mark the start of the new academic year.<\/p>\n

The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty, Witold Kurowski, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor<\/strong><\/span>, who officially welcomed new students of the Faculty of Law and Administration.<\/p>\n

Next, the Dean of the Faculty, Witold Kurowski, Ph, DLitt, Associate Professor, solemnly thanked the retiring employees for their many years of effort, great commitment, and passion that were put into educating generations of students.<\/p>\n

An important part of the ceremony was the presentation of awards \u2014 the Prof. Walerian Pa\u0144ka Award<\/strong> was given for outstanding academic achievements and exceptional commitment to the faculty, as well as the Prof. Oktawia G\u00f3rniok Award<\/strong> for an extraordinary master’s thesis.<\/p>\n

The Rector’s Awards<\/strong> for research, organizational, and teaching achievements were also presented.<\/p>\n

We cannot overlook the Golden Paragraphs Poll<\/strong>, organized by the Student Council of the Faculty of Law and Administration. Statuettes were awarded in four categories: Supervisor, Lecturer, Student Research Group Advisor, and Teacher.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was graced by an inaugural lecture by prof. Jadwiga Glumi\u0144ska-Pawlic entitled \u201cDoes excise duty discourage smoking and drinking?<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

We would like to thank everyone for attending and wish all our students many wonderful successes in the coming months!<\/p>\n
