
We have the pleasure to announce that the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Observatory of Urban and Metropolitan Processes organise the international scientific conference “Industrial Heritage and the Traces of Industrialization in Urban Space.”
The event will take place on the 6th of May 2025 (Tuesday) in Katowice (spinPLACE, ul. Bankowa 5).
The conference is devoted to a multifaceted reflection on industrial heritage and traces of industrialisation in contemporary urban space. The conference program will include presentations by researchers and practitioners from France, Germany, Spain, Estonia, the Czech Republic and Poland, i.e. from the partner universities of the Transfrom4Europe alliance, who will delve into topics related to the transformation of post-industrial areas, the social dimension of industrial heritage, the cultural context of deindustrialization, as well as the protection and reinterpretation of urban spaces.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. The conference will be conducted in English.
