With the beginning of the new year, we are pleased to announce the publication of the sixth edition of the MECOG-CE project newsletter. This issue summarises the key activities carried out by the consortium in recent months and outlines the final stages of work aimed at strengthening metropolitan cooperation and governance in Central Europe.
The newsletter includes, among others:
- key takeaways from the project partners’ meeting in Turin (12–13 November 2025), devoted to metropolitan action plans and the future role of metropolitan areas within the new EU Multiannual Financial Framework and Cohesion Policy,
- a summary of the seminar held at the European Parliament in Brussels, which brought together policymakers, experts, and representatives of European metropolitan areas, creating a platform for dialogue between the EU level and metropolitan practice,
- an announcement of the project’s final conference, scheduled for 19 March 2026, marking the culmination of several years of research, pilot actions, and international cooperation.
