The areas of research interests of the employees of the Institute are broad, but essential (strategic) research fields are:
Education and related actions within the context of contemporary and future changes in society, culture, technology, economy, and climate;
Social welfare and sustained development of individuals, groups, and environments in a pedagogical perspective: researching possibilities of optimalization within profiles of age, gender, health, agility and social adaptation level, religion, ethnicity, race, and other distinctions;
Interdisciplinary research on childhood and adolescence;
Democratization of social life: equality, accessibility, social inclusion, and the development of civil society; its threats and possibilities of optimalization from the perspective of different groups and environments.;
The pedagogical potential of culture in regard to the challenges of liquid modernity and anticipated future.
