On 26–28 February 2025, the experts from our Observatory – Robert Pyka, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. (Project director); Krzysztof Bierwiaczek, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof; Małgorzata Suchacka, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof and Zuzanna Neuve-Église, PhD – took part in the 4th Transnational Meeting of the MECOG-CE Project held in Berlin.
This meeting marked a significant milestone in the project’s implementation phase, focusing on the development of five innovative solutions in the metropolitan areas of Brno, Berlin-Brandenburg, Warsaw, Turin, Ostrava and Stuttgart. These solutions were developed through collaborative work in study clusters, culminating in the successful completion of five pilot actions.
Over the course of three days, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on completed and upcoming activities, as well as the first draft of the Strategy for Strengthening Metropolitan Cooperation and Governance in Central Europe. This strategy aims to reinforce metropolitan-level governance both at the European level and within the project’s partner regions, while also offering a model to inspire other metropolitan areas.
In addition to the working sessions, study visits provided participants with valuable insights into urban development models and spatial planning practices in Berlin.
The project is now entering a new phase of intensive work and inspiring activities. We invite you to stay up to date with the latest developments on the MECOG-CE website and the official MECOG-CE LinkedIn profile!
