The University of Silesia in Katowice announces a call for applications for students of education-related degree programms to participate in the 1st International Summer School in Spain

Up to 10 students from the University of Silesia in Katowice
Up to 10 students from the University of Alicante

Participation fee:
Free of charge

Funding for Polish students:
A scholarship is provided to cover travel (flight), accommodation, and meals on site (students must initially purchase their own flight ticket and cover meals, in accordance with program rules).

Format:
Classes will take place in lecture halls, laboratories, and outdoors at the University of Alicante, regardless of weather conditions. The program may be preceded by online lectures.

ECTS credits and certificate:
Participants who complete the summer school will receive 3 ECTS credits and a certificate specifying learning outcomes.

How to apply:
To apply, you must:

  • Join the dedicated MS Teams group using the code above by 17 April, 2026.
  • Download the application form from the “Shared” folder.
  • Complete the form, obtain required information from third parties, sign it, and submit the original paper version with any attachments no later than 27 April , 2026, at 12:00 in room 120, Faculty of Social Sciences, ul. Grażyńskiego 53, Katowice.
  • After this deadline, no documents or corrections will be accepted.
  • Additionally, by 17 April, 2026, you must notify your initial interest via email or phone to the Dean’s Representative for international academic exchange (karolina.skop@us.edu.pl)

It is recommended to obtain a receipt confirmation with date when submitting the paper form.

Selection criteria:
Applications will be evaluated based on points:

  • Self-assessment of knowledge and competencies related to the program topic
  • Language skills:
    • English: A1–A2 (1 point), B1–B2 (2 points), C1–C2 (3 points)
    • Spanish: A1–A2 (1 point), B1–B2 (2 points), C1–C2 (3 points)
  • Language certificates:
    • From a language school – 1 point
    • From a university unit – 2 points
    • External accredited exam center – 3 points
      (scans required)
  • Dean’s opinion confirming relevance to the study program:
    • Not relevant – 0 points
    • Relevant – 3 points

Important information:
Applicants must independently complete the form and obtain confirmation from their program’s Dean’s Office and the Dean’s opinion before submitting documents.

A ranking list and a reserve list will be created based on total points. In case of ties, additional differentiation may be applied based on the relevance criterion, and if still unresolved, the order of applications will decide.
