Trieste University invites T4EU alliance students to participate in the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme: Festival of European Culture and Languages – Tourism and Heritage from the Border:

  • When: 7–11 July 2025
  • Target audience: BA and MA students (preferred Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Art and Educational Science)
  • Where: Trieste, Italy
  • Topic: Tourism and Heritage in Border Regions
  • Format: Blended Intensive Program (BIP) – online component will be realised before/after the face-to-face programme
  • No of ECTS: 3

Participants will critically engage with tourism and heritage in border regions themes, taking Trieste – a city shaped by its “border identity” – as a case study. Through guided explorations and critical discussions, participants will reflect on what is made visible in heritage discourses and what remains invisible.

Festival of European Culture and Languages – Tourism and Heritage from the Border is an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme. The organisers seek students who are open to an immersive, interdisciplinary, and participatory experience that questions conventional heritage representations. This event will provide a unique opportunity to unravel the complexities of European cultural narratives and heritage, fostering a deeper understanding of how history and identity are constructed and represented in border regions.

Selected participants will participate in the short-term Erasmus+ mobility for Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (number of days, i.e. 7 x EUR 79 = EUR 553), based on the rules and required complete documents signed by the participants, Erasmus+ faculty coordinators and the deans of the faculties, including: Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme learning agreement for studies and application for travel abroad – WS. Preparation and signing the Erasmus+ individual grant agreement will be done, after completing by the participants the above mentioned documents, at University of Silesia International Exchange Office. Due to the financing of travel costs from a separate source by the Transform4Europe Office – transport will be provided by the University of Silesia from project funds, it will be necessary to include this financing in the application application for travel abroad – WS and submit the cost settlement after the mobility . Participation in the short-term Erasmus+ mobility for Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme and Erasmus+ individual grant will be settled on the basis of confirmation of mobility and the implementation of the Blended Intensive Programme from the organizing university (Trieste University) and individual online survey, provided by each participant.

Based on the scholarship (Erasmus+ individual grant), each participant will independently cover a stay at a hotel/hostel in Trieste and meals. Transport will be provided by the University of Silesia from project funds.

Selected students will be qualified to participate in the trip on 6–12 July 2025 in one group. It is not possible to shorten or extend the trip or to leave from/return to a different location than the rest of the group.

Flight tickets will be purchased in one batch for the entire group.

In order to apply for participation, please fill in the online application form until 30 April.
