On 11 May 2026, an online meeting of the Youth Think Tank initiative entitled “Work, Pay and Communication. Cultural Dimensions of Professional Activity in Poland” took place in real time via the Google Meet platform. The event was organised as part of the project “SUCCESS | Socially Innovative Ukrainian Centres in Central Europe: Empowerment and Social Support”.

The meeting was addressed to people of Ukrainian origin living in Poland who were interested in gaining a better understanding of Polish cultural specifics in the areas of the labour market, communication, and professional activity. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the cultural similarities and differences between Poland and Ukraine, as well as their practical significance in the job search process, during job interviews, and in everyday professional life. Basic issues related to intercultural competences and their role in social and professional integration were also discussed.

The speaker at the event was Dr Rafał Cekiera – an expert in the sociology of migration, religion, and culture, with many years of experience in conducting integration workshops for people from Ukraine.

The event brought together participants from various cities and towns across Poland, including Bydgoszcz, Toruń, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Sosnowiec, Wrocław, Zabrze, and Katowice. A wide range of institutions and organisations were represented, including the Academy of Social and Media Culture in Toruń, the University of Silesia in Katowice, Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, WSB Merito University, Bolesław Prus Secondary School in Sosnowiec, the Academic Secondary School in Dąbrowa Górnicza, as well as freelancers and representatives of the business sector.
