First Round of T4EU Sustainable Heritage Student Competitions

13.03.2025 - 15:12 update 25.03.2025 - 15:24
Editors: AA

All students from the Transform4Europe Alliance are invited to participate in the First Edition of the T4EU Sustainable Heritage Student Competition. The event will take place in Trieste from 7 to 11 July 2025 and will focus on the expertise of one of T4EU’s esteemed stakeholders, the Bora Museum (Museo della Bora), which has a longstanding commitment to environmental awareness, in collaboration with ICL (Innovators Community Lab – UNITS). This initiative will be organised in a BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) format, designed to engage students from T4EU partner institutions.

The challenge for students selected to participate in the competition will be to explore the role of cultural and creative organisations in developing new models for dissemination, as well as raising awareness about climate change and its impact on our material and tangible Cultural and Landscape Heritage within the civil society.

Each group will devise a cultural project, focusing on the theme of Environmental Heritage and Generations and aimed at engaging specific target audiences. Projects should have local relevance but be replicable in similar contexts, involve citizen science activities, incorporate methodologies for collecting and preserving intergenerational memories and adopt innovative and environmentally sustainable strategies.

The initative will be organised as a Blended Intensive Programme.

Participants will receive a scholarship for the trip as part of the short-term Erasmus+ mobility (number of days, i.e. 7 x EUR 79 = EUR 553), based on the required complete documents signed by the participants and the deans of the faculties, including a financial agreement, application and reimbursement agreement. Based on the scholarship, each participant will independently cover a stay at a hotel/hostel in Trieste and meals.

Transport will be provided by the University of Silesia from project funds. Upon return, participants must submit the cost settlement and confirmation of the implementation of the Blended Intensive Programme from the organizing university.

Selected students will be qualified to participate in the trip on 6-12 July 2025 in one group. It is not possible to shorten or extend the trip or to leave from/return to a different location than the rest of the group.
