University of Trieste invites students to participate in Regional Heritage Workshop titled “Reframing Memories in Times of Crises” in the framework of Mnemosyne, the 3rd T4EU Heritage Week, which will take place at the University of Trieste, Italy, from 21 to 22 October 2026.

This year’s Heritage Week explores the theme of European Heritage, Memory, and Artistic Practices. Inspired by Aby Warburg’s reflections on the relationship between art and memory, the programme brings together two complementary events under a common thematic framework: a Regional Heritage Workshop (for MA and PhD students) and a Regional Artistic Research Roundtable (for experts and stakeholders).

Over the course of the event, participants will examine how Europe’s shared heritage is constructed, interpreted, and reimagined through critical memory studies and artistic methodologies. The programme adopts an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together scholars, artists, students, cultural institutions, and GLAM+ from across the T4EU Alliance and abroad.

The programme for students:

  • 21–22 October – MA and PhD students
Reframing Memories in Times of CrisesRegional Heritage Workshop, exploring how contemporary crises reshape remembrance practices and narratives across Europe through historical and anthropological perspectives.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend keynote lectures and panel discussions, engage in a participatory World Café, exchange ideas with scholars, artists, and cultural professionals, and contribute to discussions on participatory artistic practices, sustainable heritage, and memory policies in Europe.
