We are pleased to announce that the SPIN-Lab Centre for Microscopic Research on Matter at the University of Silesia in Katowice has signed an agreement for scientific, research, and development cooperation with Technoorg Linda, a global leader in ion polishing technology for microscopy. As part of this agreement, a modern DEMO-Lab has been opened, where materials can be prepared using advanced ion polishing technology.
The official signing ceremony took place on March 17, 2026. On behalf of the University of Silesia, the agreement was signed by the Vice-Rector for Finance, Prof. Michał Daszykowski. On behalf of the company, the agreement was signed by András Szigethy, the CEO of Technoorg Linda.
The DEMO-Lab has already begun its operations — on March 18–19, the first workshops were held on the use of ion beams for sample preparation for imaging using various microscopy techniques. The workshops were organized jointly with Uni-Export Instruments Polska. They were extremely popular, reaching the maximum number of participants.
We believe that this cooperation will contribute to the further development of innovative research and strengthen the technological potential of both parties.
