CINiBA
The Scientific Information Centre and Academic Library is a shared academic library of two Katowice universities – the University of Silesia and the University of Economics. The primary purpose of the library is to meet the needs of students, academics and residents of the region in terms of access to the library materials and scientific information, in particular:
- collecting and making available library materials to the extent that meets the needs of users in accordance with the principles of public accessibility of libraries,
- improving the quality of education and providing the academic community and other interested users with access to the latest sources of information and documents supporting science and teaching,
- development of IT infrastructure and modern library systems, use of new technologies, ensuring access to the professional search tools,
- conducting teaching activities in the form of training and workshops on the use of library collections and services,
- advice and care for users of information resources and library collections,
- conducting bibliographic, documentary and editorial work,
- cooperation with libraries and scientific and cultural institutions in Poland and abroad,
- organization and co-organization of educational and cultural events,
- conducting promotional and information activities.
