Language of instruction: Polish

Pedagogy is a degree programme offered at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia at the 1st and 2nd cycle, as well as long-cycle studies both full-time and part-time. If you dream of working with children and young people in the future and you want to help and support people who need it – it’s a perfect choice for you! Both during 1st cycle and 2nd cycle studies you can choose a major that will allow you to deepen your knowledge in the field that interests you the most. During your studies, you will acquire skills in sociology, psychology and, above all, various subdisciplines of pedagogy. The curriculum also includes issues related to executive penal law and juvenile law.

After graduation you can work as: teacher-educator in a correctional facility, a juvenile shelter; special needs teacher in a sociotherapy centre, primary and secondary school, psychological and pedagogical counselling centre; probation officer, caretaker of children, youth, adults, seniors in family support and foster care facilities, and social care facilities.

The studies also cover compulsory fieldwork classes and foreign language classes: English, German or Russian.
