During my studies in nanophysics as part of the dual degree programme, I participated in an international exchange at Le Mans University in France on two occasions.
The first trip was an internship and allowed me to get acquainted with the working style at a foreign university and learn new scientific tools. I had the opportunity to meet nanophysics students studying in France, as well as take part in meetings organised by the international community.
During my stay the following year, I focused on writing my MSc thesis in English. Despite the pandemic going on at the time, I fondly remember the time of remote research and discussions with professors. The experience of studying at Le Mans gave me a lot of freedom to communicate in English in everyday life as well as in the academic world.
The international exchange proved to be a great advantage during the admission process for doctoral studies.
