In the years 2025-2027, the Institute of Sociology will implement a grant project ‘mInimise coSts and mAximise Benefits in the transitionary European regional Labour markets’ (ISABEL) obtained under the Horizon Europa programme.
In addition to the University of Silesia in Katowice, the project consortium includes the following institutions:
- Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (Greece – Project Leader),
- University of Copenhagen (Denmark),
- University of Western Macedonia (Greece),
- University of Warwick (Great Britain),
- University of Oviedo (Spain),
- University of Beograd (Serbia),
- Progressus Research & Counseling (Greece).
The project involves the analysis of factors influencing the processes of job destruction and job creation in regions undergoing energy transformation. The Polish national partner is the Voivodeship Labour Office in Katowice. The key institution of the regional labour market will support the Institute of Sociology in the creation of the so-called “living lab”, which will develop a model for the professional reintegration of people who lose their jobs (or are at risk of dismissal) in connection with the region’s restructuring processes.
Employees of the Institute of Sociology involved in preparing the grant application will participate in the project. This includes: Rafał Muster, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof., Grzegorz Gawron, PhD, DLitt, and Łukasz Trembaczowski, PhD.
