Journalism and Social Communication, 1st and 2nd cycle studies

In times when society is changing very quickly and access to information is particularly important, it is worth knowing how to stay up to date with everything. Knowledge of these processes will allow students to be a conscious person that is able to find a job in contemporary, modern media and institutions.

Students of the degree programme ‘Journalism and Social Communication’ will gain knowledge of political science, philosophy, economics, psychology, sociology and issues related to the profession of a journalist and related professions. They will understand and accurately analyse the processes taking place in modern information communities and will be able to make changes in the information and social communication spheres.

Graduates of ‘Journalism and Social Communication’ are conscious and active members of society and culture. They are able to make changes in the functioning of social information, as well as analyse and understand the basic processes taking place in modern information societies. It concerns not only changes connected with information and technolgy, but also social and political ones.

Such skills will enable them to undertake a job in the field of:

  •         journalism in all types and kinds of periodical mass media,
  •         advertisement, promotion, public relations,
  •         media education
  •         media institutions management
  •         media market research and public opinion research.
