International Studies in Political Science and Diplomacy are a new offer at the University of Silesia. The main goal of the studies is to educate future staff for, among others, diplomatic posts and international institutions. The programme is based on political science supplemented with the issues related to law, economics, sociology, history and psychology. Excellent knowledge of foreign languages is a priority of education. Students will be able to choose between two majors: Government Administration and Diplomacy; Leadership in International Relations.
Lectures and classes on the Government Administration and Diplomacy major will be conducted in two languages: Polish and English. Lectures and classes on the Leadership in International Relations major will be conducted in English.
What is more, the students will learn French and Spanish (starting at the basic level), with an emphasis on specialised vocabulary in the field of international relations, public administration and diplomacy. The main goal of the studies is to prepare the graduates to work in government administration, civil service, and, above all, Polish diplomatic posts, international institutions and organisations, including European ones. Highly qualified staff will help to achieve this goal. In addition to research and teaching staff of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia, classes will be conducted by experts working for international institutions, government administration and diplomatic posts on a daily basis.
