Sociology, 1st cycle studies, 2nd cycle studies

Sociology is a degree programme offered at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia at the 1st and 2nd cycle, both full-time and part-time. The education of students is oriented towards the transfer of general knowledge about the surrounding world, allowing for diagnosing and understanding social phenomena, problems and processes, as well as developing the ability to acquire, collect and analyse this knowledge. As a student of both 1st and 2nd cycle studies, you will have the opportunity to choose a major that, in addition to basic sociological knowledge, will deepen and develop your interests.

If you are interested in the broadly understood functioning of society, Sociology is a perfect degree programme for you! You will learn how social groups are formed, how communities function, and what characterises interpersonal relationships. Our graduates are characterised by, among others: passion for learning, developed research workshop, creative thinking, analysis and diagnosis, and effective communication with the environment. 

As a graduate of our course, you will be prepared to work, among others in: in public administration institutions, cultural institutions, public opinion research centres, institutions dealing with social policy and in specialist positions in the management, selection and recruitment system, and human resources development.
