HOW WAS MY ERASMUS IN POLAD
I don’t know how to start 😊 I’m Fatma Gündoğdu. I am from Turkey. I have been accepted to your university within the scope of Erasmus internship program. First of all, I would like to thank you very much for accepting me to your school and helping me experience many good things. In a long period of 6 months, I had many memories to remember both in Poland and outside of Poland. As you know, I came to your school as part of the Erasmus internship program. Although I was here at a time when we experienced a sad event like covid-19, I think I was lucky. Because I had the opportunity to work in the laboratory. Here I worked in the field of metallography. I prepared the samples I had brought and examined their microstructures. In addition, my consultant helped me to work practically in the areas where he worked, in examinations such as TEM, SEM, Vickers Test. In this process, both my advisor and other teachers and doctoral students at the school helped me a lot. I am very happy to know them all. In this process, I had the opportunity to go to many beautiful cities in Poland. These cities are Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Warsaw. It was all very special and beautiful. But Gdansk has become my favorite city. As someone who loves the sea very much, Sopot was really beautiful. Even though Gdansk is a little far from Katowice, it didn’t prevent me from going twice 😊 Besides these cities, I can’t skip Katowice. I’m glad it became a city I call Katowice with its small lakes everywhere, peace, calmness, cuteness, greenery, forests, nature and many other features that I can’t count. It made me get to know many people and experience many beauties in every street. In this process, I had the opportunity to travel to countries other than Poland. Although I fit it into a period of 12 days in a long period of 6 months, it was a madness that I will never forget in my life. It was a big surprise to me that my visa was not extended due to Covid-19. While I could not travel alone even in Poland alone, I visited 10 countries in 12 days. I would also like to thank the consulate for giving me the courage to do this accelerated tour of Europe 😊 One can achieve anything when forced 😊 It was a very good experience for me. These countries were the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium. Although I had a very short time in every country I went to, I visited many beautiful places. In conclusion, I can say that Erasmus was very good for me. I am sure that I will miss every moment when I return to Turkey. I would like to say again that I cannot thank you enough for inviting me to your school and helping me experience all these beauties. I am glad that I chose the University of Silesia, I am glad that I chose Poland. I will always remember you well.
