The project led by Prof. Janusz Gluza from the August Chełkowski Institute of Physics has been financed under the National Science Centre call for proposals – MAESTRO 15.

About the project

The project Precision studies for particle-collider physics has received funding in the amount of PLN 3 456 869,00.
The research is mainly focused on calculations and simulations using the Monte Carlo higher-order perturbation effects generators within the Standard Model of particle physics in current and future high-energy accelerators. These calculations will allow the verification of subtle effects predicted by extended theoretical models that attempt to answer still unexplained aspects of particle physics related to the interactions of Higgs particles and their impact on the evolution of the Universe with matter-antimatter asymmetry and the effects of CP symmetry violation, or the generation of masses and neutrino oscillations. The research will be conducted in cooperation with scientists from Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, Ukraine, the UK and the USA.

About Prof. Januszu Gluzie

Prof. Janusz Gluza is engaged in research on neutrino physics, non-standard models of elementary interactions, low and high-energy physics, and precise perturbation calculations within the Standard Model.

About the MAESTRO 15 call for proposals

The MAESTRO call is the most prestigious competition among the national initiatives of the National Science Centre. It supports the implementation of pioneering scientific research, including interdisciplinary research, important for the development of science, which goes beyond our current state of knowledge and is likely to bring about important scientific discoveries. The competition is targeted at experienced scientists with a PhD degree.
The grant can go toward funding research team salaries, including scholarships for students and PhD students, research equipment costs and other necessary project expenses.
The call’s budget was PLN 20 million.

Congratulations!
