We are pleased to announce that Jolanta Makowska, PhD, Associate Professor at the University of Silesia, has been awarded a PLN 44,000 grant by the National Science Centre (NCN) under the MINIATURA 10 programme.

As a MINIATURA 10 grant recipient, Makowska, PhD, Assoc. Prof. will carry out the project entitled “The role of the synthesis method and cooling conditions in shaping the defect distribution and dielectric properties of Ba(Zr₀.₂Ti₀.₈)O₃.” The project has received funding of PLN 44,000.

Jolanta Makowska, PhD, Assoc. Prof. is a researcher at the Institute of Materials Engineering. She is a member of a research team investigating the functional properties of liquid crystal materials, perovskite and perovskite-like ceramic materials. She also supervises the Micro-Mechatronics Student Research Club and the Rockwell Automation Industrial Automation Laboratory.

The project aims to investigate how the synthesis method and cooling rate affect the defect structure and dielectric properties of lead-free BZT ceramics. The findings are expected to provide new insights into the relationships between processing parameters and the physical properties of lead-free functional materials.
