On November 12-14, 2024, Joanna Korzekwa, PhD, Maciej Zubko, PhD, Assoc. Prof. and Krystian Prusik, PhD, Assoc. Prof., scientist of the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology visited the Saarland University in Saarbrücken (Germany).
The scientists warmly welcomed by the Institute of Functional Materials Director Prof. Frank Mücklich, and Flavio Solder, PhD Eng. had the opportunity to see the scientific, research and teaching facilities of the Saarland University.
The representatives of the University of Silesia gave lectures at an open seminar hosted by the Institute of Functional Materials, which were enthusiastically received by the university community in attendance.
Additionally, the University of Silesia researchers were given a guided tour of the excellently equipped electron microscopy laboratories at INM – Leibniz Institute for New Materials, led by Jörg Schmauch, Msc ENG and Christoph Pauly, PhD Eng.
We extend our heartfelt thanks for the invaluable discussions. We hope this visit will contribute to the establishment of closer collaboration between the University of Silesia and Saarland University.
