We invite students to attend a lecture, as part of the Erasmus+ programme, by Francisco Javier Martínez Guardiola, a visiting professor from the University of Alicante.
About lecturer: Francisco Javier Martínez Guardiola is an Associate Professor in University of Alicante, he obtained his Electronics Engineering Degree in 1996, its Physics degree in 1999 and finished his PhD in 2015. He is involved in the Holographic and Optical Processing research group from 2009 and has more than 20 scientific papers in the JCR indexed journals. Apart from his academic career, he has also held positions in the private sector, such as in a cybersecurity company (CODINE s.l. 1999-2000) and a telecommunications company (Cableuropa s.l.u 2000-2009)
Title: Digital Image processing in sound and image in Telecommunications Engineering
About lecture: In this talk, we want to present how the Digital Image Processing course is taught at the University of Alicante. We focus on the concepts and their implementation using Matlab. We also want to show how, starting from the simplest concepts, they can be applied to a Holographic Information Storage system, demonstrating the connection between the course and the research conducted by the instructor.
