9th edition of the All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition in Ljubljana

The call for applications for the 9th edition of the All-European International Humanitarian and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition, which will take place in November 2024 at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, is now open!

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:

This moot court competition is based on a Case Study which is carefully prepared by the organisers in cooperation with the ICRC and UNHCR and addresses the most pertinent and topical questions relating to international humanitarian and refugee law, drawing on the current crisis situations. It is designed to encourage students to study and understand the fundamental concepts of international humanitarian and refugee law by addressing concrete legal problems and practice their legal argumentation in front of experienced judges and panel members.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV (in English) and a motivation letter (in English) to Dominika Iwan-Sojka, PhD under the following e-mail: dominika.iwan@us.edu.pl

Selection criteria:

  • Knowledge of English (minimum B2 level),
  • Knowledge of Public international law,
  • Interest in international humanitarian law and international refugee law will be an asset.

Deadline for submission is April 15th, 2024. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview based on their knowledge of public international law, including international humanitarian and refugee law.
