PhD Candidate Rafał Wieczerzak from the Doctoral School of the University of Silesia in Katowice actively participated in the prestigious Cyberspace Conference, which took place at Masaryk University in Brno on November 29-30, 2024. This annual conference brings together leading researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the field of cyberspace and digital technologies.
During the conference, Rafał Wieczerzak, together with his supervisor, Associate Professor Andrzej Olaś, delivered a compelling presentation titled “Judicial AI Systems as High-Risk Applications under the AI Act: Balancing Innovation and Fundamental Rights.” Their presentation focused on the classification of judicial AI systems as high-risk applications under the new AI Act and explored the complex balance between fostering innovation in AI technology and safeguarding fundamental human rights.
